Isabel Estephan is a 19-year-old singer-songwriter and has been writing for the past six years. “Ever since I can remember music has been in my blood and has been a strong part of my life”. Through starting dancing at the age of 18 months, music has been a huge influence in her life. Growing up, she has been involved with her local theatre group, and performed in local talent quests and theatre productions. Throughout the years she started to write, leading her to various songwriting workshops. Recording with the company of seven other students across Australia she wrote and recorded a song at studio 301 Sydney that was performed during the FIFA World cup at Darling Harbour in 2010. Isabel has also recorded with Josh Pyke and Jake Stone and other students around Australia. Isabel was asked to sing at the Opera House in Sydney for the Blue Mountains Hotel Board with nine other girls. Through entering the songwriting competition “Count Us In”, she received a high commendation for her song “I Care”, recognised by John Foreman. In 2014, Isabel released her first EP album FLY, which reached the top 200 singer/songwriter charts. Trained in Musical Theatre by one of Australia’s leading singing teacher Patricia Ortel, Isabel’s unique voice captures the hearts of many who listen. In 2016 Isabel was involved with the ‘RAW Natural Born Artists’ showcase in Wollongong. When asked where her inspiration comes from when writing music, she expressed, “when you listen to my music you are listening to my life stories. My music is my mood and my lyrics are my feelings. Ever since I can remember I have wanted to make the world a better place. As I have gotten older I have realised that I can do that through music. I have realised that music has the power to compel people to commit acts of kindness, and that’s what I want to do with my music.”
From a young age, Theodore had fallen in love with music and dreamt of playing drums. His drumming journey began at age 13 when he began drum lessons. From that point on he joined numerous bands including the school jazz band, the Latin jazz band at Wollongong Conservatorium of Music (through a scholarship), and a rock band at School of Rock. Theodore also loved to jam and create music with his high school friends and in year 11 he began a cover band called Vinyl Playback. He was immersed in the music culture of his high school and received a band 6 for HSC music. While still attending school he also completed a Certificate III in Technical Production – Studio recording and mixing. After school he gained the opportunity of playing in an orchestra. In 2015 Theodore featured as the drummer in Roo Theatre’s production of Evita, Pheonix Theatre’s production of La Cage and Moon Glow Theatre Company's production of Mary Poppins. Through all these experiences he has learnt how to play many different genres and has evolved as a musician by playing live venues, school events and busking. Theodore enjoys sharing his knowledge through teaching drums, as well as going back to his high school to accompany other music students completing their HSC. Apart from playing the drums, Theodore has been involved with musical/theatre groups, such as Laura Jackson’s Aspiring Music Theatre Company (AMTC) and Roo Theatre’s production of West Side Story. He has also developed self-taught skills playing the guitar, bass and piano. Theodore’s passion for music has lead him to learn how to play multiple instruments, expanding his ability to compose his own works of music. He spends countless hours searching and learning new ways to improve his guitar work and composition skills. He hopes to share his love and passion with those that listen to his playing.
